This comfortable, private cabin is in a wooded setting at the rear of our yard in Chatham. It is a two-minute drive to Hargrave Military Academy or Chatham Hall. Both are within a ten-minute walk as well. The cabin is 100 years old and the original log walls can be seen throughout. Guests can sit on the screened front porch to enjoy coffee in the morning or make a fire in the stone fireplace outside on a chilly evening. The yard seen in the photo has boxwood paths and two sunken gold fish ponds. Two stone columns invite you to enter a boxwood path that our grandchildren tell us is “like the Secret Garden.” We invite you and your family to enjoy the grounds.

Over time, this cabin has been used - during the 30's we are told - as a Honeymoon Cottage. Apparently, -- this is according to some of our more mature residents here in Chatham -- it was the only place young people could go on a honeymoon - other than the bride's house!
